Amos Coulanges was born in 1954 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. A prolific artist and teacher, he won first prize for composition at the seventh Carrefour de la guitare in 1987 in Martinique.

Alongside his activities as a guitarist-concertist, he teaches music education and choral singing in Paris. Amos Coulanges also composes works for guitar and flute, mixed-voice choir and film music. His music is inspired by Haiti and his international career. He performs regularly in Paris as a soloist, and in duo with singer Kécita Clénard.
