Then, one morning, a patron of the arts, whose identity he doesn’t know, gives him the job of jumping from the

twelfth floor, in a play, for a fee of one million dollars. Roger

would earn a million dollars for a single performance. Ironically, he lives on the twelfth floor of an apartment.
