Djennie Laguerre is a Haitian-born actress, storyteller, dancer and teacher. Ever since she was a child, Laguerre has been committed to her artistic development. It was therefore natural for her to follow a path in the arts as early as high school, and to pursue her post-graduate studies at the Stellar Adler Acting Conservatory (New York) after obtaining her B.A. in Theatre and French Literature from the University of Ottawa. First performing in New York, Laguerre developed her career in Canada in the 2000s.

In Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal, she has participated in a variety of performing arts projects, from Toronto’s Théâtre Français to storytelling festivals. She has enjoyed success in both French and English, and through her own works and co-creations (Rendez-vous Lakay, Espoir/Espwa). She has also appeared on TV, in Degrassi the Next Generation and as Madame Bonheur on MINITFO.

Throughout her career, Djennie Laguerre has won numerous awards. She continues to inspire artists of all ages through her teaching of theater and dance, her performances for children in schools, and all her artistic projects.
